Rocha pears are typically yellowish, and originated from Portugal. Recognized for their juicy, pleasant, and sweet flavor, they are enjoyed both domestically and internationally. Also known as Portuguese pears, they are one of the main fruits exported by the country - 98% of the world's Rocha pear production happens in Portugal, with 95% of that production concentrated in the West region, which includes Cadaval, Bombarral, Torres Vedras, Caldas da Rainha, Alcobaça, Lourinhã, Óbidos, and Mafra. All the fruit we use comes from local fruit growers. If interested, you can check who produced the fruit on each package.
Production process
Our snacks production is easy, although the process is time-consuming
We begin by slicing the fruit and placing it in specially designed solar dryers, which is more eco-friendly than drying the fruit in ovens. This method preserves the fresh fruit flavor, a unique characteristic of our snacks.
As the fruit dries, its flavor intensifies, resulting in naturally sweet snacks without added sugar.
The drying process takes about 3 days, depending on the weather. After drying, we package the fruit.
All our snacks are a source of vitamins and minerals, and are also rich in fiber. For more information, please refer to the nutritional statement on the next tab.
